We are all involved in helping an increasing number of clients to understand the business case for gender diversity, to uncover the barriers within their own organisations, and to do something about it. It takes a range of approaches...
2011 has seen a significant increase in focus on the number
of senior women in corporates and the proportion of women on their
boards. More and more companies are realising that they need to
take positive action to enable and support the progress of women to
the higher levels of the organisation.......the improved ROI of the
few companies with a more gender balanced board makes this move
seem obvious. ....
....and yet to achieve this gender balance means understanding
why the balance changes so dramatically from 50/50 at
profressional levels to almost negligible at board and
executive levels. After years of discussion and research, focus on
gender pay equality and, most
recently, recommendations as to the percentage of women
who should be present on a FTSE 100 board, the retention
of senior women still remains a real challenge for the majority of
organisations.
